Mission at RPPC
Mission at Roland Park Presbyterian Church is
fundamental to our faith.
Our emphasis is focused on providing
opportunities for hands on participation for our congregation to
enrich both our personal and collective spiritual lives as well as
those that we serve.
We concentrate our time, talents and financial
resources in two broad areas….Families in Crisis, and Shelter.
Mission committee members, as well as any member or friend of RPPC,
advocate for more than 30 different organizations that need our
help. But we don’t limit our involvement in just those two areas.
Any organization in need that our members are passionate about can
be considered for resource assistance.
At RPPC, we are fortunate to have a relatively
sizable budget with which to carry out our faith mission to others.
It is primarily funded from the proceeds of an endowment created for
just that purpose…living out our faith by giving to others.
Although most of our effort to date has been
directed to relatively local and regional needs, we are beginning to
expand our reach. We recently introduced specific opportunities for
our congregation to engage in mission efforts in the Gulf Coast
area, Native American locales in the Dakotas, areas of Guatemala as
well as Cuba.
Of the many spiritual activities that we may do
to enhance our nearness to God, giving is one of the most powerful.
For those that have experienced it, it is truly a life changing
opportunity to put yourself in the shoes of another, less fortunate
person and help them cope with their everyday issues and problems.
During the 2007-2008 fiscal year, we provided over $75,000 in
financial support to the following organizations:
AIRS,
