Confirmation classes are offered every few years at RPPC, when there is a group of young people who are ready to join the church. Confirmation is the process of “confirming” the vows made at your baptism and claiming them as your own. It is not a statement of unwavering belief, but the readiness to begin a life-long process of wrestling with questions of faith and doubt. Confirmands are asked to attend discussion based classes, commit to service within the church and community, assist in worship leadership and write a statement of faith. The confirmands are supported on their journey by teachers, mentors and the congregation as a whole. At the end of the process, there is a confirmation service in our regular service of worship, which usually takes place at the end of May or beginning of June.
Roland Park Presbyterian Church is a local community of faith that was founded in 1901. RPPC is an inclusive and welcoming member congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the Presbytery of Baltimore that encourages the exploration of faith and sharing of gifts to make a difference in the world.
