RPPC Garden: Growing Food, Growing Community
At Roland Park Presbyterian Church, our garden is a small but powerful expression of our commitment to pursuing justice and practicing hospitality. What began as a simple idea has become a steady source of fresh, local produce for our neighbors through CARES.
Since 2020, the RPPC Garden has produced an average of 190 pounds of vegetables each year, helping to provide nutritious food to those who need it most. In 2025, the garden yielded 180 pounds of produce from just 96 square feet of growing space—a testament to what care, consistency, and community can do together.
This year’s harvest included:
- 65 lbs. of collards and kale
- 56 lbs. of cucumbers
- 40 lbs. of squash and zucchini
- 11 lbs. of tomatoes
- 5 lbs. of beans
- 3 lbs. of carrots
While some larger tomatoes were claimed by local wildlife, the garden continues to adapt—favoring cherry tomatoes that are especially useful for CARES, where they’re shared in small, accessible portions.
Behind these numbers is a deeper story: volunteers tending the soil, neighbors supporting one another, and a shared belief that even small spaces can make a meaningful difference. The RPPC Garden reminds us that faith can be lived out in tangible, nourishing ways.
Wherever you are in your faith journey, there’s a place for you here—whether that means planting, harvesting, or simply celebrating the impact we can have together.
All are welcome.
