Roland Park Presbyterian Church is a local community of faith that was founded in 1901. RPPC is an inclusive and welcoming member congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and More Light Presbyterians as well as an Earth Care Congregation that is pursuing justice, practicing hospitality and engaging curious faith. RPPC worships together each Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

ABOUT OUR LOGO:

Symbols are important. They are all around us, and in ways both implicit and explicit, they help us find meaning and interpret the world around us. As it is in most Christian sanctuaries, the cross takes central place in the chancel of Roland Park Presbyterian Church. Our logo is derived from this cross. Added during a major renovation in the late 1950s, the cross in our sanctuary is, to the best of our knowledge, unique in its addition of two orbiting circles around the horizontal and vertical cross section of the cross. The exact intention of the artist who created these rings is not known, but interpretations of the symbolism abound. Some think it is reminiscent of the rings of an atom or those around planets, perhaps pointing us to both the intimacy as well as the enormity of God’s love. Others see halos, flower petals or even the hint of the Chi Rho or christogram, an ancient symbol for Christ. Surely in the decades in which people have gathered to worship in this space, many other interpretations have been shared or kept quietly within the individual worshiper’s heart. We like to think it says something about the uniqueness of this congregation that it does not force its meaning on us, but invites us to bring our own thoughts, interpretations, imperfections and experiences to bear in seeking its significance in our own lives and world.
